About Helena Hardman.
With over a decade of experience in design and home furnishings, Helena Hardman is a British Interior Designer based in the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles, California.
Helena is not only known for her upbeat and easygoing approach to creating elegant spaces but leverages her English roots to add timeless and practical European design details to all of her projects. A former engineer and financial consultant, Helena traveled the world before hanging up her corporate hat to bring her natural talents and global experience to the design world. Her desire to understand and share the rules behind design, paired with her project management experience culminates in a truly unique approach to design.
Helena is an alum of the Ivy House Design School in Bath, England and the Art Institute in Portland and an honorary fellow of The Royal Society of Arts in London. After moving to Los Angeles, she spent 3 years at an award winning full-service design firm in Pasadena, CA before launching her eponymous interior design firm, Helena Hardman Home in 2021.
Modern Brit. A Fresh Take on Tradition.
My design style (Modern Brit) comes from my mix of British and American living… I have now spent almost half my life in each country. A Southern English country upbringing led to life as a management consultant in London, a job that took me across the globe. In the US I have lived and worked as an investment banker and CFO in New York, San Francisco and now call Los Angeles my home.
And, while I think we all crave a fresh, livable space, I truly believe we intuitively respond to the grounding influence of traditional design elements, whether in layout, color, pattern or texture. I favor a clean layered mix of modern and classic that reflects a sense of history and benefits from observing practical design rules. For me, this is the key to giving depth to your spaces and your story.
Are we a good style fit?
When you work with me, your home will reflect you… defined by a balance of old and new, American and English, traditional and modern (essential to all my designs is a modern “moment”, that brings a room to life). So, if this sounds like you - then yes!
